Born in Frankfurt a.M. in March 1966, Anke Butawitsch spent her childhood in a suburb of Hannover before she moved to a place close to Nuremberg where she still lives now.

At the beginning of her artistic career, her focus of interest laid on the performing arts like oil painting and watercolour, where she became aquainted with colouring and composition. Professionally she realises her creativity in the planning of gardens.

In 2014 she discovered her passion for photography during a journey in Iceland - fascinated by the landscape, the various weather conditions and the infinite facets of light. The medium photography and subsequent image processing in particular allowed her to capture this atmosphere and reflects it in her pictures.

She is for the most part an autodidact, continually working on her photographic art by attending courses, reading literature and performing practical exercises.

Please feel invited to discover a selection of her pictures around the topics - landscape - architecture and people on the following pages. Your questions and comments are always welcome. If you are interested in her photos, please feel also free to contact her.
